Behind the facade of a double-fronted Melbourne heritage home, a richly layered interior unfolds across eight rooms. Steel-framed windows, bluestone floors, olive-green walls and warm timber details set the scene for a considered mix of contemporary furniture, antique pieces, art and design literature. Conceived by Rachel Donath as a home rather than a conventional showroom, the new flagship feels collected over time—intimate, characterful and quietly unexpected.
The spaces move between a formal living room, library, bar and dining room, each offering a different composition of furniture and objects. Rather than presenting pieces in isolation, Rachel Donath has created interiors that suggest how they might naturally inhabit a home, with contemporary forms sitting alongside vintage and antique finds.
The interiors are the result of almost two years of collecting by founder Rachel Donath, who sourced vintage and antique furniture, artworks and historic design books specifically for the flagship. The resulting mix brings together different periods and perspectives, creating a sense of depth and discovery throughout the home.
“I wanted to completely rethink what a furniture showroom could be,” Donath says. “Rather than walking into a space where furniture is simply displayed, I wanted visitors to feel as though they are stepping into a home that has been thoughtfully collected over time,” she adds.
Now open in Melbourne, the flagship marks a new chapter for the Australian-founded brand, offering a more immersive way to encounter its collection—not simply as furniture, but as part of a considered and evolving interior.
At the rear, an expansive sunroom extends the experience outdoors. Floor-to-ceiling steel-framed windows, exposed rafters and bluestone flooring establish a relaxed architectural backdrop for the outdoor collection, while olive-green walls and bamboo blinds bring softness to the light-filled space.
