Flos has long been synonymous with enduring design, creating lighting that transcends trends and generations. In a celebration of its lasting legacy, the Italian design powerhouse unveiled ‘Icons’ — a visual homage that revisits a collection of its most revered and culturally definitive lighting pieces.

Revealing a new visual narrative; Icons, conceived by Flos Chief Creative Officer Barbara Corti, combines architectural elegance with human interaction, capturing twelve iconic lamps through the lens of Catalan visual artist Daniel Riera. With art direction from Omar Sosa of Apartamento Studios, Icons places Flos’ recognisable designs against a backdrop of Milanese architecture from the 1930s to the 1960s.
These interior settings, designed by luminaries such as Gio Ponti and Renato Ferrari, create a rich dialogue between the classic and the contemporary, allowing each Flos lighting piece to exude a timeless relevance. From the delicate 2097 chandelier to the sculptural arc of the Arco floor lamp and the playful elegance of the Snoopy table lamp, Icons captures decades of ingenuity.
"The desire to create a new visual story for our icons led us to reflect on their enduring contemporary relevance after so many years,"
- Flos Chief Creative Officer Barbara Corti
“The interplay between the lamps, their architectural surroundings, and the human figures who inhabit these spaces tells a powerful story,” says Corti. “These objects transcend time, creating intimate moments that blend past and future seamlessly.” Presented in a mix of black-and-white and colour imagery, Icons juxtaposes historical resonance with the present day.
As Flos Deputy CEO Matteo Luoni notes, Icons is not a nostalgic homage but a forward-looking exploration of design’s role in shaping human experiences. “Our commitment to preserving and evolving these icons reflects the responsibility, creativity, and courage that define Flos’ DNA.”
