Gaggenau announce the third iteration of their Kitchen of the Year Design Contest for 2025, with submissions now open until April.
The Gaggenau Kitchen of the Year competition recognises exceptional kitchen design across two categories; Luxury Home and Multi-Residential. The contest invites architects, interior designers, builders, and developers to craft innovative kitchen spaces that are at the heart of the home, prioritising premium technology and high-quality craftsmanship.
The contest will be judged by a panel of esteemed industry leaders, including Eva-Marie Prineas (Studio Prineas), Damian Hannah (German Kitchens), Richard Archer (Archer Design), Miriam Fanning (Mim Design) and Sue Carr (Carr). Projects will be evaluated against criteria such as originality, responsiveness to client briefs, user-centred design, execution, and integration of Gaggenau’s cutting-edge appliances.
Exemplifying pioneering kitchen design, the Gaggenau Kitchen of the Year Design Contest 2023 winner, Fisherman’s House by Studio Prineas, stood out to the judges for its original, timeless design elements and seamless yet functional integration of Gaggenau appliances. “Eschewing trends in favour of longevity, our practice has always felt a strong alignment with Gaggenau – a brand that is renowned for their enduring, high-quality, functional designs,” Studio Prineas founder and current panelist Eva Marie Prineas reflects.
The Gaggenau Kitchen of the Year contest embodies the brands’ legacy of enduring craftsmanship, visionary design and functional longevity, Gaggenau senior brand communications manager Olya Yemchenko reflects. “We seek designs that not only marry form and function but also redefine what’s possible in kitchen architecture, embodying Gaggenau’s unparalleled craftsmanship and innovative spirit,” she adds.
Submissions will be open from October 21 2024 until April 30 2025, with winners shortlisted in July 2025. Projects completed in Australia and New Zealand after May 1, 2023 are eligible for consideration.
