A Sydney terrace home is a testament to the beauty, versatility and practicality of clay, from roof tiles to bespoke fittings. When Muci founders Chris Mullaney and Steani Cilliers met LOHAS founders Michelle Park and Andrés Pichel, it was a meeting of shared sensibilities: natural materials, longevity and reverence for craft.
The Woollahra home, long familiar to its owners, was dim, awkward, and disjointed due to decades of additions. The aim was never to erase its character but to restore coherence, calm and functionality for a young family. Brick and tile form the language of the house, with over 50 LOHAS products used in subtle gradients of tone, pattern and sheen.
A Roman handmade brick anchors the palette, with terracotta floors, French-wash walls and curved raw-clay ceilings introducing warmth and depth. Even the compact courtyard continues the material story outdoors. Clay House is a home that endures, where every surface, detail and gesture feels considered, tactile and quietly expressive.
