As Laminex celebrates 90 years of innovation in Australian laminate manufacturing, the brand’s premium legacy and dedication to sustainability continues with the launch of True to Nature: Next Generation Woodgrains, a décor collection of AbsoluteGrain finishes inspired by Australia’s natural landscape. The collection features six Australian Native Woodgrains and three oaks in varying hues, from the rich red tones of Spotted Gum to warm, soft oaks. Crafted using first-to-market TrueScale technology, this collection provides a design-forward and sustainable approach to natural timber surfaces to preserve Australia’s native forests.
To showcase their Australian Native collection within a design context, Laminex collaborated with Melbourne-based interior design practice CJH Studio to design five distinctive spaces that thoughtfully highlight each finish.
Building on extensive research, development, and production in consultation with the Australian Design industry, this collection reflects the latest advancements in laminate technology. Laminex’s AbsoluteGrain finishes replicate the authenticity and tactility of natural timber with the durability of laminate, featuring subtle variations and detailed grain patterns, while the use of cutting-edge Laminex TrueScale technology guarantees no repeat designs, delivering lifelike, large-scale woodgrain surfaces.
“The collection is particularly suitable for statement interiors, from their markings and peculiarities to their colours and tones, the distinct qualities of Laminex Australian Natives offer unmatched authenticity and realism,” Laminex General Manager Sacha Leagh-Murray reflects. “Laminex is really a palette of surface products, and it is what our customers do with them that brings design and beauty to spaces,” she adds. Laminex TrueScale celebrates scale and authenticity with a market-first: realistic, no-repeat designs that bring the intricate details of natural timber and stone to laminate surfaces. Extensive research and cutting-edge technology have enabled Laminex to achieve marble and woodgrain detailing at a scale previously unavailable in Australia, expanding what’s possible in laminate surface design.
Laminex lifted cues from the warmth and tactility of Australian natives when crafting this collection, including the soft and subtle Victorian Ash featured in this space designed by CJH Studio.
