At the cornerstone of Parisian entertainment and eateries is the oh-so-boutique Hotel Panache. We decided to continue the Panache’s first birthday revelry by taking a closer look at the elegant art deco destination, calling all design-savvy travellers.

Interior designer Dorothée Meilichzon has encapsulated the theatricality and liveliness at the heart of Hotel Panache’s location, with a tastefully eclectic style. Showcasing her young and fresh design approach as previously seen in Hotel Bachaumont, Meilichzon revives the Parisian accommodation for a laid-back yet stylish stay. Inspired by the Flatiron Building in New York, the 19th century building has the influence of big-city chic with a distinctly Parisian finish. Situated on the corner of rue du Faubourg Montmartre and rue Geoffrey Marie, the seven-story building forms a triangular prism, reflected in the layout of the 40 rooms that beautifully embrace the structure’s confines.

Revisiting the era the hotel was built, The Panache reveals a love for Art Nouveau in a new modern chapter. As a curvaceous ode to the movement, the distinctly Parisian bed frame is a reoccurring symbol in each room, and one of the only clear repetitions throughout the suites. Instead, each suite comes an alternative utilisation of the space, expanded by the classic French doors and balcony together with the mounting of various mirrors in the corners of each space. Every room shows a thoughtful consideration of the theatrical theme, embodied in the wallpaper and flooring. Printed with eye-catching geometric rhythms and various patterned carpet and rugs make no two rooms the same – offering a unique experience to each guest. A Bauhaus-funk has tinged the furniture and fittings, down to retro telephones and light switches on the walls. The hotel is a visual feast — even the hallways are an arty eye-full.

The unspoken rule of enjoying a Parisian getaway is a love of fine street-side dining and for that, Hotel Panache presents its very own restaurant.  With luxe rustic tones and navy soft furnishings, brass fittings and New York mosaic tiling, the restaurant is an authentically Parisian setting with a sophisticated modern twist. Adding to an impressive resume, restaurant owner David Lanher provides a new menu ‘to the tastes of the day’ — a selection of cuisine curated on the principle of sharing. This sharing extends to partnerships Hotel Panache has formed with craftsmen of the area, to bring a delicious breakfast and dessert menu from NOGLU, the first gluten-free Parisian Restaurant, designed by Frédérique Jules. The mini-bars include sweet treats from La Mere de Famille, the oldest chocolate factory in Paris – only a hop, skip and a jump from the hotel.

If you find yourself at Hotel Panache, you have been blessed with cornucopia of local Parisian culture, brimming with life, both day and night. Amid the animated bustle of the area is an array of eateries, with the Rue Cadet market street a short distance from the Hotel. For dining outside the hotel confines, we recommend the local Racines and Encore, alongside the Bouillon Chartier restaurant for a traditional, century-old dining experience. A spectacle of theatre lies only just a short stride from Panache’s doorstep, near Grands Boulevard, including the historic Folies Bergère, to enjoy cabaret, to your heart’s content.  If a Paris rendezvous or a gourmet food stay is calling your name, Hotel Panache ticks all the boxes.
