  • Australasia’s premier contemporary art fair, Sydney Contemporary, presents an exciting lineup of art, architecture and design conversations as part of Talk Contemporary.

From September 7-10, Sydney Contemporary 2023 returns to Carriageworks to host more than 500 artists and 96 emerging and established galleries from Australia, New Zealand, Japan, Indonesia and Singapore. The art fair has also unveiled a series of talks under their program Talk Contemporary, under the umbrella of art, curated by Friends with Strangers director Samantha Watson-Wood, and architecture and design, curated by design editor and commentator Karen McCartney

Engaging leading Australian creatives in live conversations, Talk Contemporary will explore themes such as designing spaces for art and a designer or architect’s approach to collecting. “The architecture and design talk series has a stellar lineup of panellists with topics that span art in the home and art in public spaces, how and what to collect and how architecture and art intersect with designing for Country,” Karen McCartney says. “We are really delighted by the range of artists, architects, interior designers and gallerists who have agreed to be part of the talk series – so we can guarantee stimulating, witty and informative discussions,” she adds.

Sydney Contemporary is presented at Carriageworks, Australia’s largest multi-arts centre, from September 7-10, 2023.

This year’s Sydney Contemporary will feature more than 500 artists and 96 emerging and established galleries from Australia, New Zealand, Japan, Indonesia and Singapore.

The Sydney Contemporary talk program Talk Contemporary will take place from September 7-10 at the fair.
