For Rosa Malignaggi gathering around the table with her Sicilian family was “an adventure jam packed with frivolity, grace and really, really good food.” Rustic Sicilian cooking was the backbone of every family event, playing an important role for each individual character that sat side by side telling stories of ancestors and their homeland.
Making the decision to form her very own table for people to gather around and share in both their stories and culinary delights, was a natural progression for Rosa. What began as an initial ‘monthly cooking caper’ soon grew beyond Rosa’s Table and on to incorporate Rosa’s Culinary Tour of Sicily. “People began to ask me to show them my Sicily, so how could I refuse!” exclaims Rosa.
Of course we agree – it would be rude not to do it!
Offering an intimate and personalised tour of Sicily, visiting the streets of Palermo, the vibrant food markets, discovering little hidden culinary treasures, and meeting local artisans and villagers along the way, Rosa’s tour takes you into the very heart of her parents homeland. Personalised and with insiders access and information – now that’s how we like to experience a country…and if you do too then book a seat on the tour that leaves Tuesday September 9th to Thursday September 18th and experience it for yourself.
For friends of Est living in Melbourne, you are invited to sample some Sicilian treats and experience a slide show presentation of the Rosa’s Table Culinary Tour of Sicily – just to feed that travel bug you have!
