Based in Marseille and Paris, France, multi-disciplinary designer Marion Mailaender launched her interior architecture and design agency in 2004. Since then, she has created objects as well as scenographies, or carried out residential, hotel and commercial projects. She seizes the codes of different eras, culture, fashion, uses, and popular forms, bringing them together to create hybrid, poetic, evocative, highly narrative objects. Repair, assembly, transformation, addition and subtraction, the use of scraps and craftsmen’s waste are at the heart of her approach.
Embodying a certain idea of the new French scene, Marion draws her strength from her references and the artists around her. It is not uncommon to find in her projects pieces by her favourite designers, such as Mario Botta or Ettore Sottsass, mixed with pieces by young designers and second-hand pieces that she finds everywhere.
