About

GOLDEN’s reductionist approach to expressive interiors demonstrates an intuitive understanding of the impact physical environments have on our wellbeing. Designing for residential, hospitality and workplace projects, the studio’s acclaimed body of work is unified by a desire to contribute to a better quality of life; enhancing the everyday by responding to our very basic human needs.

This meticulous approach to the tactile, the sensory and the emotive elevates interior spaces to intelligent expressions of modern life. Refined yet congenial, inspired yet pragmatic, GOLDEN’s work is a reflection of our human desire for harmony and ease. Resonant interiors designed to be experienced and deeply felt.

A note from est

Having featured co-founder Alicia McKimm’s own family home alongside Temple House, a firm favourite from issue #57, we’ve seen Golden’s philosophy play out in a personal way. Theirs is a practice that believes a home should be equally functional and beautiful, and whether it’s Alicia’s own terracotta-floored family retreat or a dramatic seven-metre-high living volume designed around a growing art collection, it runs through everything they do.

"Calm, intentional and beautifully resolved interiors."

—Kylie Buhagiar & Alicia McKimm
