Paris Go to Guide | Marais Muse

  • Est Magazine Paris Go To Guide Caravane

As one of the oldest regions in Paris, the Marais is much loved for its history, architecture and boutique shopping. Walk the entire length of rue du Temple, rue de Francs-Bourgeois, rue Vielle du Temple and rue des Archives and you will uncover all kinds of sublime. From unique one off boutiques, galleries and french chain store finds like Maje, Sandro and Vanessa Bruno I promise you can lose yourself here for days. Here is a quick round up of the best boutiques for fashion, homewares and food.

    FASHION & HOMEWARES

CARAVANE 6 rue Pavee If you love linen you will love Carvane. Linen sofas and linen bedding makes this a kind of nirvana for me. They also have a fabulous range of lamps, furniture and objet along with inspirational styled vignettes to have you dreaming.
    Merci; 111 Boulevard Beaumarchais
You know about this. Be sure to go there if you haven’t yet – or go again if you have. Installations change every week. Did I mention they do the best ever crumble ( I think 3 times last count!)

SHINE 15 rue Poitou – Grace Boutique Ilana Moses put me onto this little gem – and as all Melbournians know this girl knows how to source. With a well edited collection of APC, Acne, Celine shoes to die for amongst many other brands.

    Est-Magazine-Paris-Go-To-Guide-Bon-Ton

BON TON 5 Boulevarde Filles du Calvaire if you have children – or if you don’t. This store is deliciously chic and awe inspiring for its both its merchandise and its styling.

    FOOD

L’AS DE FALLAFEL 34 rue Rosiers. This place is a must for the best Falafel. Ever.

BOB’S KITCHEN 74 rue des Gravilliers – For tasty vegetarian delights. We loved the organic, fresh vegetable curry on brown rice and nori rolls that come served with obligatory chunk of baguette on the table (you are in France after all) and a bite sized green tea muffin for a petite sweet to finish.

    Est-Magazine-Paris-Go-To-Guide-Rose-Bakery-3

ROSE BAKERY 30 rue de Debelleyme. Get here early for luch for the best salads, sweet treats and juices. The waitresses are all so glowing and beautiful its almost like watching art in motion as they bake, juice and prepare your food before your very eyes.

404 69 rue des Gravilliers. For fabulous Moroccan food served in what feels like an authentic Kasbah. Cosy, dimly lit and bustling, this hidden gem in the Marais oozes ambience from every poor of its stone lined walls. The aromatic tagine’s will have you well fuelled for a full days worth of shopping in the morning I promise.

And finally…no serious shopper can leave town without playing homage to this place.

MONTAIGNE MARKET 57 Avenue Montaigne For shopping nirvana – both for the people watching and the brands. You can’t go wrong here with labels from Missoni, J Brand, Lanvin, Balmain, Saint Laurent and The Row. Remember it costs nothing to try something on. You could be here for hours.
