Nine to Know | The Dinner Party

  • We’ve curated a collection of objects and furniture to inspire your next dinner party.

When hosting a dinner party, there is more to consider than just the menu; first, you must set the scene. The list of objects and furniture that can culminate in a successful soirée is infinite, so we’ve narrowed it down to nine of our design favourites.

    Italian Street Food

Written by Paolo Baccia and published by Thames & Hudson, Italian Street Food takes you behind the piazzas, down the back streets and into the tiny bars and cafes to bring you traditional, local recipes that are rarely seen outside of Italy.

    Menu Ceramic Bottle Grinders

Even the most unassuming table objects – these ceramic bottle grinders by Danish design company Menu, for example – can elevate the dinner party.

    Cutipol Goa Salad Servers

The details count; these salad servers from Portugal-based cutlery brand Cutipol are modern, and practical and come in both stainless steel and gold.

    Rhizome 02 Scented Candle

Scented candles and dinner parties are like bread and butter. This one is from Milan-based perfume house Rhizome and contains notes of cedar and leather, balanced by gentle labdanum and vanilla.

    Ligne Roset Vase T

A sculptural, mouth-blown glass vase for the centre of the table, designed by Marie Christine Dorner for French furniture company Lignet Roset. The vases can be interlocked in three soft colours to create one compact group.
