Nine to Know | Muted Colour Rugs

    Much like introducing a piece of art into a space, soft-toned rugs offer visual interest through calming colours and warming textures. From dusty pink to lilac, mint and sage green tones; these ice cream-coloured rugs are a sumptuous blend of subdued hues in contemporary shapes and patterns. If you’re one to usually lean towards a neutral palette, this collection of nine muted colour rugs may have you thinking otherwise.

    Dtuch design studio Raw Color collaborated with Barcelona rug frontiers Nanimarquina on the Blend 1 Rug. Taking its name from its ‘blended’ appearance, the Blend 1 Rug is comprised of only five yarn colours, woven into dual lines to create the visual perception of new colours.

    Copper no.2 Rug Behruz Studio

    Reminiscent of 19th-century impressionist art, the Copper no.2 Rug designed by esteemed German rug designer Jurgen Dahlmanns for Behruz Studio’s Rug Star Collection fuses wool and silk in a tapestry of tones.

    Hali’s Rainbow Rug in White Blue features a gentle gradient from white to washed denim; the perfect accompaniment to cooler marble, travertine and polished concrete floors.

    Taking inspiration from the wings of a butterfly, the CC-Tapis Envolee Rug combines gentle pink hues in different fibres to create a tactile rug with a heightened sense of femininity.

    The Nudo White Beige Rose by German designer Sebastian Herkner is handwoven from wool in Colombia, inspired by tribal masks on display in the Gold Museum, Bogot√°. Available at Halcyon Lake, this unique pastel colour-blocked rug comes in six different colourways.

    The GAN Handloom Backstitch Busy Rug in collaboration with Raw-Edges.

    A collaboration with Israeli design studio Raw-Edges, the GAN Handloom Backstitch Busy Rug explores the reverse side of traditional embroidery, available in three muted colour choices. Raw-Edges aimed to showcase the beauty of this random backstitch and developed it into their rug collection with GAN.

    Part of the CC-Tapis Dipped Collection, the CC-Tapis Dipped Angle Rug showcases subtle geometric shards of Himalayan wool, silk and aloe in an abstract balance of restrained tones; ideal for a brief accent of colour to the living room.

    Italian artists Studio Testo designed the Karpeta Bianco Rug with the lunar landscape in mind. Handmade in India, The rug features black and grey motifs over a washed blue background.
