Harrison Interiors were all about creating an open plan living environment. They wanted to create fluid and comfortable spaces to gather that the client could easily imagine helping with homework in, or them all sitting up for breakfast at the bench. That’s why they reorientated the kitchen, letting the area have direct contact with the dining area and flow through to the rear terrace.
The Newport Residence isn’t just about the now – its interiors are assured to age well practically and aesthetically. That’s because Harrison Interiors leaned on materials like recycled Tasmanian oak floors, American oak joinery, Carrara marble and brass handles and tapware in the kitchen – that all generate a beautiful effect in their timeworn state. These materials lay the foundations to a rich and polished palette threaded through every space, and leave us wanting to run our hands across every surface for their lustrous tactility.
