Living with Light | Viabizzuno partner Australia Launches the Aura Collection

Viabizzuno Aura Suspension Light

The Aura Collection by Snøhetta for Viabizzuno arrives in Australia, sculpting luminous forms that prioritise the behaviour of light over traditional fixture design.

In interiors attuned to design, lighting is never just functional—it’s a medium, a material, a subtle sculptor of space. The Aura Collection reimagines suspension lighting as an architectural element in its own right, where form gives way to the behaviour of light itself.

Snøhetta, the Oslo-based studio celebrated for sustainable architecture and design, approached Aura with a sculptural sensibility, while Bentivoglio-based lighting brand Viabizzuno applies decades of manufacturing expertise to realise each pendant with exacting detail.

The collaboration began with a single, guiding question: could light itself be designed, rather than the form that holds it? Now entering the Australian market via Viabizzuno partner Australia, Aura gives designers access to a modular system previously experienced only at international trade shows.

Debuting at Milan Design Week 2025, during Viabizzuno’s Laboratory of Light, Aura comprises a family of suspended pendants with conical diffusers crafted from transparent polymethylmethacrylate. Each pendant channels light into a subtle beam, while copper-plated steel and brass cables carry both fixture and power. Single, multiple, or catenary arrangements allow the lights to be layered and scaled to suit both residential and hospitality interiors.

Multiple Aura pendants combine to form layered compositions, letting designers create dynamic installations that respond to scale and context.

Suspended cables of copper-plated steel and brass braid carry both fixture and power, integrating structural and functional elements with subtle elegance.

“Rather than designing a fixture to hold light, we set out to design light itself—sculpting it with precision and control,” Marius Myking, Director of product design at Snøhetta, says. “The Aura Collection embodies the intersection of physics, engineering and design, made possible through our close collaboration with Viabizzuno. Together, we have redefined what is possible with light.”

Offered in three diameters, Aura’s versatility lies in its restraint: its design prioritises the modulation and quality of light over decorative form, allowing pendants to blend into space while shaping atmosphere.

At its core, Aura is a study in light itself—considered, adaptable and transformative, proving that a single family of luminaires can shape the spatial and emotional character of a space.

The Aura Collection by Snøhetta for Viabizzuno is now available in Australia through Viabizzuno partner Australia.

Highly transparent polymethylmethacrylate diffusers allow light to flow naturally, creating an effect that feels both airy and deliberate.
