Home Tour | Villa Greco by Night Palm

Located in Hancock Park, Los Angeles, Villa Greco is an enchanting 1930sMediterranean revival by the city’s acclaimed interior design studio, Night Palm.

Known for their richly layered work, inspired by film, fashion and music, the studio’s vision for this full-time home was for it to be romantic, alluring, and cinematic — fitting for the two prominent TV and film writers who live there. Led by Night Palm founder and former music video producer Tiffany Howell, the transformation of the interior design revisits the elegance of the 17th and 18th centuries with a contemporary twist.

“Villa Greco is an evocative, warm space reminiscent of a timeless Italian villa,” Tiffany says. “Not only did I fall in love with the home’s architecture, but the clients as well, since they gave me the freedom to fully express my vision as an interior designer and make the home feel exactly right for them,” she adds.

The dining room features 1940 vintage chairs and a crystal sphere chandelier that demands attention at the centre of the space.

The texture of vibrant green velvet alongside Murano glass lighting adds dimension as well as a sense of richness and sophistication to the home, while Art Deco patterns and opulent materials like gold and chrome accents enhance the decor, adding depth and elevating the overall aesthetic appeal. Bold statements infused with comfort are seen and felt throughout the home: in the dining room, with 1940 vintage chairs and a crystal sphere chandelier that demands attention at the centre of the space, and in the reading room, with its deep green tones and patterned upholstery, channelling the ambience of a royal sitting room.

Staying true to its Mediterranean revival roots, the home is laid out on a rectangular floor plan surrounded by luscious gardens. Its common spaces are wrapped in French doors that open up to greenery all along the first floor.

Wallpaper depicting lush landscapes, sculptural lighting fixtures that give off amber hues, and a smoky colour palette of deep greens and golds lift inspiration from Guadagnino’s 2017 film “Call Me By Your Name” and an iconic floral editorial by Gucci. “We wanted the space to feel quite cinematic and romantic, to offer inspiration to the homeowners,” Tiffany says.

Tiffany’s favourite space in the home is the living area; it’s vast walls covered in a textured Pierre Frey wallpaper that blends seamlessly with the views of foliage outside the French windows. A fireplace with organic motifs sits as a focal point within the space, atop of which is a striking artwork portraying a floating female figure, further injecting the space with an inviting sense of warmth.

“The wallpaper is reminiscent of a landscape tapestry from the 17th century,” Tiffany describes. “The mural wraps around the room and makes you feel as though you’re immersed in a forest. It’s an art piece within itself,” she adds. Aligned with studio’s design philosophy to create spaces that evoke bygone eras and genres, Villa Greco has done just that — existing as a seamlessly dreamy blend of nostalgia and modernity, transcending time and place.
