Crafted from mouth blown glass, the sculptural Karakter Lari lamp designed by prolific Italian architect Angelo Mangiarotti is reminiscent of his architectural design. “The Lari lamp appeals to my training and experience as an industrial and automotive designer,” Joel says.
02. Vitra Butterfly Stool
Designed by Japanese designer Sori Yanagi, the Vitra Butterfly stool combines Japanese forms with the renowned plywood moulding technique developed by Charles and Ray Eames. “Reminiscent of a butterfly, my iconic Vitra Butterfly Stool in maple sits under a large scale Tom Polo painting in our cosy TV den,” Joel says.
03. Ginori 1735 Oriente Italiano Porcelain Fruit Holder
The Ginori 1735 Oriente Italiano Porcelain fruit holder is hand-crafted and decorated by Ginori artisans in Italy. “I always love to mix classic with contemporary; for example, the unexpected mix of a fine porcelain fruit stand with an Oriente Italiano pattern set against Danish stainless steel utensils and cutlery from George Jensen,” Joel says.

04. Cire Trudon Joséphine Candle
Crafted at their workshop in Normandy, France, Trudon is the world’s oldest candle manufacturer, renowned for their premium quality and rich scents. “There is never a moment at home when I am not burning an exotic Cire Trudon candle,” Joel reflects. “My favourite is Abd El Kader, which features a burst of Moroccan fresh mint,” she adds.
05. Cassina Indochine Swivel Armchair
The Cassina Indochine swivel armchair is reworked from the original Fauteuil Tournant LC7 Chair, designed by Charlotte Perriand for Cassina in 1927. “I love to style my chair alongside a Nemo Cylindrique wall light in the iconic blue,” Joel reflects.
