As the gifting season approaches, we’ve curated a selection of objects, furniture, and accessories for the design enthusiast in your life. Editor Sophie Lewis reveals her top five picks from this year’s collection, highlighting the enduring appeal of exceptional design.
01. Købn Tamarillo Towel
The Købn Tamarillo towel draws inspiration from the vibrant colours and rich traditions of Marrakesh, combining the softness of organic cotton with the durability of Turkish towels. “The Købn Tamarillo towel’s nostalgic colouring makes it a firm favourite. It’s an essential for a summer spent by the coast,” Lewis adds.
02. &Tradition Tung Side Table
The &Tradition Tung side table is supported by three curved legs, evoking the architectural presence of ancient pillars. “I recently eyed off the &Tradition Tung side table by British designer John Astbury in the Mo Jacobsen bathroom designed by YSG Studio,” Lewis says. “The combination of the high-gloss lacquer and curved legs make it such a fun, compact piece.”
03. HAY Barro Oval Dish
Designed by Rui Pereira, the HAY Barro Oval Dish is versatile tableware crafted from durable terracotta, reflecting the designer’s appreciation for this ancient material. “What’s not to love about contemporary Scandinavian stoneware available in playful hues—the dish that keeps on giving!”

04. Fredericia Spanish Chair
Designed in 1958, the Fredericia Spanish Chair is a staple of modern design, crafted from solid oak or walnut and premium saddle leather. “It doesn’t get much more timeless than the Spanish chair by Danish designer Børge Mogensen,” Lewis affirms. “This iconic armchair is the perfect heirloom piece for the special people in your life.”
05. Vitra Akari 1A
“After a recent trip to Japan, the Vitra Akari 1A lamp by the renowned designer Isamu Noguchi is at the top of my wishlist. Made from traditional washi paper, the handcrafted paper lantern has a delicate and animated form,” Lewis reflects. Handcrafted in Gifu, Japan, the Vitra Akari 1A is just one of many of Noguchi’s recognisable light sculptures.
