01. Coco Flip Dancer Table Lamp

“I recently had the experience of collaborating with Kate Stokes, Haslett Grounds and Belinda Wiltshire for limited additions to the Dancer collection for Melbourne Design Week. This has given me an appreciation for both ceramic design but also the complexity of creating lamps- they’re very techinical pieces. This lamp is elegantly resolved and completely handmade here in Melbourne. For me this is a wonderful local collaboration story!”

02. New Volumes Skáfos Vase

“Earlier this year, Artedomus took David Flack and I to Italy to visit some of their esteemed suppliers, including Cotto Manetti, who traditionally produce terracotta tiles and wine amphoras. It was the Artedomus team who saw the potential to extend this material into their New Volumes collection. The result is a unique cross-continent collaboration between Cotto Manetti and Australian designers, creating furniture and objects from a material typically associated with other purposes. This vase by Chris Connell is simple and refined, and what I enjoy most is that all the pieces can be used both indoors and outdoors.”

03. Annie Paxton Portrait Mirror

“Annie is both a friend and a colleague, her practice transforming utilitarian and industrial materials into delicate and whimsical functional objects and furniture. With each piece she designs there is an exploration of new forms, concepts and purpose. She was recently featured in the NGV Rigg prize where she set explored some new ideas, her work constantly evolves and progresses which is refreshing in the world of ‘fast design’.”

04. Vitra Akari UF3-Q

“Isamu Noguchi was an artist who developed these ethereal sculptures that function as light and art, they’re a wonderful nod to traditional Japanese lantern making. They’re are almost 100 different types each with a variety of expressions, I personally have few and continue to add to my collection.”

05. Woman Made: Great Women Designers

“One for the ladies! Reminding us we were not such a minority; this book has 200 female designers from the twentieth century.”

06. Nau Banksia

“I really love the advocacy and local support that NAU brings to the Australian design scene. This particular piece by Zachary Hanna is ideal for those summer evenings in the holiday season. Such a clever functional piece of design.”
