Introducing Carrousel by Charlotte Chesnais x Christofle

There is a subtle beauty in objects that elevate the everyday — pieces that move beyond function to become part of the visual landscape of a home. The Carrousel collection by Parisian designer Charlotte Chesnais for Christofle enters this space, reimagining the ritual of dining through the lens of sculptural form and enduring French craftsmanship.

In partnership with Christofle Australia.

Comprising twenty-four essential flatware pieces housed within a sculptural metal and timber display case, Carrousel is less a traditional cutlery set and more a curated composition. Inspired by the organic forms of Jean Arp, the case reads as a mobile artwork: a walnut interior panel cradles each piece, transforming storage into display. Hung or placed, it becomes a sculptural tableau, where utility dissolves into art.

Chesnais, known for her fluid, architectural jewellery, brings the same sense of movement and balance to the table. Each piece embodies the bold, organic lines that define her Parisian practice. Handles curve with subtle motion and silhouettes feel considered from every angle, capturing a quiet energy drawn from her background in adornment.

For Christofle, a maison synonymous with silversmithing excellence since the 19th century, Carrousel continues a legacy of collaborations with visionary artists — from Gio Ponti to Andrée Putman — reaffirming that true craftsmanship transcends function, becoming art for everyday life. The collection embodies a dialogue between heritage and modernity, where time-honoured techniques meet a distinctly contemporary sensibility, and represents a continuation of craft shaped by new creative voices.

In today’s homes, where dining spaces are increasingly fluid and expressive, Carrousel feels particularly relevant. It acknowledges that the objects we use daily contribute to atmosphere and identity. Here, flatware is not hidden away but celebrated — an invitation to slow down, gather, and engage with design at the most intimate scale. Christofle and Charlotte Chesnais’ Carrousel collection proposes a new way of seeing the table: as a stage for craft, creativity, and contemporary living.

Carrousel will be available for purchase in Australia in early 2027.
