A holiday home has been crafted to reflect the Mediterranean landscape of its coastal setting, drawing on the tones and textures that surround it.
Households, much like people, are in a constant state of flux. Expanding then shrinking, daily habits and needs shifting subtly with the seasons. Very often a home’s awkwardness is just accepted as it is—the occupants finding ways to adapt their lives around its rigid structure.
For the residents of Boulevard House, however, the time came to reshape their house to the exact contours of how they live. An Edwardian home in Melbourne’s East Camberwell, it had served them beautifully when the kids were young. But as a family of six, with four growing children, a new chapter of teenagerhood approached, and a need for more independence along with it.
