Exclusively available at Cosh Living, the Kett Portland Arc table anchors the dining space, paired with Portland side chairs upholstered in Bespoke Pimento and Bronze by Catherine Martin for Mokum. A sculptural AStep Model 2065 pendant designed by Gino Sarfatti adds an ethereal softness to the rich materiality, and the Moghul rug in Beige from Hali Rugs forms a soft foundation underfoot.

Interior designer Amelda Wilde has created a sanctuary of craft, contrast and connection at home. The latest additions from Cosh Living‘s new Geelong showroom, including the Kett Portland Arc table, find a natural place within this layered, evolving interior — embodying the brand’s ethos of enduring Australian design.

In partnership with Cosh Living.

In a quiet pocket of Geelong just off the popular boutique shopping precinct of Pakington Street, interior designer Amelda Wilde has spent more than a decade shaping her 1930s Californian Bungalow into a layered, personal sanctuary for her family. Shared with her partner, a steel fabricator, and two young children, the Von Leach Residence is an exploration of atmosphere, craftsmanship and authenticity. “The design philosophy developed from the idea of storytelling as you move through the space,” Amelda reflects. “I wanted key moments of twists and surprises, subtly reinterpreting Arts and Crafts ideas in a new century… ultimately aspiring for legacy preservation for the next century.”

Seeking to amplify the charm of the existing building while playfully incorporating contemporary layers, Amelda’s approach embraces innovative ways to welcome natural light, contrast spatial proportions, and introduce unique colour palettes. The home strikes a balance between decorative details and artisanal elements, incorporating hand-finished objects alongside robust materials like steel and stone, and incorporating moments of surprise within an underpinning sense of inclusivity by prioritising open, connected family zones. This rich foundation perfectly reflects the shared ethos between Amelda’s design approach and Cosh Living’s values: authenticity, local design, lasting fabrication, and quality materials.

At the heart of the dining space sits the Kett Portland Arc Table, designed by Justin Hutchinson exclusively for Cosh Living. With sculptural arched legs and a solid timber top, the table blurs the line between furniture and architectural form. “The Portland table shows off the cathedral grain of the solid timber, which I love,” Amelda says. “It aligns with the project’s principles—rich texture, contrasting weight in a light space, and a material that will stand the test of time.”

Upholstered in Amelda’s choice of Pimento and Bronze velvets from Catherine Martin’s Mokum collection, the Portland side chairs pair seamlessly with the Portland Arc table, which lends a strong, sculptural presence to the dining zone. Amelda describes it as honest and designed to last. “It feels substantial, with a timeless quality,” she says.

The solid American oak Portland Arc Table by Kett and matching Portland side chairs, upholstered in Mokum’s Bespoke Pimento and Bronze, are set against the dramatic archway framing the Johanna occasional chair custom upholstered by Amelda in Bespoke Dahlia by Catherine Martin for Mokum.

In the formal living space, the Potocco Sen Cabinet in Cherry Red introduces a vibrant punctuation to the otherwise muted palette—a statement piece from Cosh Living.

Set against the living room’s calm tones, the Double L Glaze coffee table designed by Chiara Andreatti for Potocco draws attention.

Furnishing her own home, Amelda admits, is a purely intuitive process. “I have a weakness for low-slung, deeply grounded furniture,” she says. This instinct guided the inclusion of the Johanna occasional chair by Kett, upholstered in Catherine Martin for Mokum’s Bespoke Dahlia velvet — a rich blackcurrant tone. Positioned in a quiet corner, its inviting curves and plush tactility invite pause.

The home’s palette is punctuated by confident moments of colour, including the striking cherry red Potocco Sen cabinet. With its Japanese influence and sculptural presence, it occupies a central role in the green-hued formal living space. “It’s a standout piece,” Amelda says. “The space holds room for a strong colour element to shine.”

Other Cosh Living pieces integrated into the Von Leach Residence include the Potocco Double L Glaze side table in honey and the Kett Otway night table in light walnut. Each piece adds to the layered narrative, contributing subtle warmth, tactility, and artisanal detail.

For Amelda, collaborations like this are about shared values as much as shared aesthetics. “Local manufacturing is important and continually challenged,” she says. “Direct collaboration with makers allows for nuance, evolution, and individuality, which helps pieces settle effortlessly into a space.” The result is an interior where every detail — from the arched architectural thresholds to the placement of a side table — speaks to a thoughtful, enduring vision. Cosh Living’s designs don’t impose on the space; they inhabit it naturally, as though they’ve always been there.

Velvet and glass strike a bold contrast in this corner, where the deep plum Johanna occasional chair meets the luminous Potocco side table in Honey.

“Direct collaboration with makers allows for nuance, evolution, and individuality, which helps pieces settle effortlessly into a space.”

With its softened edges and solid oak construction, the Otway bedside table by Justin Hutchinson brings an understated purpose and sense of craftsmanship to the bedroom.
