TABLEAU is a creative studio and exhibition space renowned for its multidisciplinary and disruptive approach to design. Founded in Copenhagen in 2018 by floral designer Julius Værnes Iversen, the studio has collaborated with Hermés, Tom Dixon, and Vogue, among others.
Exploring floral design, object design, exhibition design, interior design, and architectural installations, TABLEAU works to deconstruct established ideas of art and design through a collaborative approach.
TABLEAU proudly presents its new direction at this year’s 3daysofdesign with two new locations and exhibitions that delve into the question of what makes a place a home.
“At TABLEAU, we explore functional art and its ability to reflect on the intangible elements that transform a space into a sanctuary of belonging, a sense of ‘Domestic Pleasure’. Through the diverse perspectives of our contributing artists, we aim to spark dialogue and introspection on the universal quest for a place to call home.”
For this year’s selection, TABLEAU have handpicked bespoke collectible designs from their community of artists and designers such as Ali Gallefoss, Forever Studio, Jacob Egeberg, Laurids Gallée, Lino Gasparitsch, Onno Adriaanse and Sigurd Nis Schelde.

TABLEAU Gallery, their new showroom and creative studio, occupies a striking 300 square metre space tucked within a backyard behind the infamous Strøget of Copenhagen. Showcasing bespoke furniture and functional art, their exhibition underscores their dedication to cultivating a vibrant community of artists and designers united by a shared vision, guided by collaborative design principles, fostering both individual and collective creativity and advancement.

TABLEAU Concept Store, nestled within the historic confines of a 400-year-old merchant store on Store Strandstræde, draws upon the rich heritage of Copenhagen’s historical centre to explore the concept of belonging. Constrained by the original interior of the merchant shop, TABLEAU asked their community of artists and designers to create bespoke works to fit the original, protected shelf system, resulting in a cabinet of ‘Domestic Pleasures’, an unexpected collection of smaller, domestic objects. The venerable building itself becomes a focal point, reflecting upon its significance in the context of home and community as visitors are encouraged to contemplate the intertwined relationship between physical space and intimacy.
