Designers Tamiko Onozawa and Sophie Ashby from the London based design studio Spring and Mercer, got in touch with us recently to share one of their latest projects, The Russell. Within a flash we recognized the sophisticated elegance and grace that is synonymous with the best of British Design.

Located in Convent Garden, the apartments overlook The Piazza and the cobbled streets below. With the first floor originally  built as a warehouse, it has retained its architectural DNA with exposed steel and half-moon windows, while the upper floors take on a grander slightly more regal feel. Industrial and regal - how very British!

We are quite the fan of sea grass flooring ourselves, and love the herringbone style they have used here along with the limed oak floors, cool grey walls and a mix of modern style furniture and eclectic mix of artwork. Custom made furniture and cabinetry mixes so harmoniously with refurbished antiques and off the shelf modern pieces - the result of a truly successful design scheme - balance.
